Ellie von Wellsheim is a local entrepreneur with a deep concern for social justice. During her lifetime she has initiated, organized and moved forward several far-reaching humanitarian efforts.
In 2011, Ellie founded The MoonCatcher Project after learning about the plight of girls in poor communities who often drop out of school at puberty because they have no means to manage their periods. This project provides reusable, washable menstrual pads to help keep girls school.
