The MoonCatcher Project

Virtual Birthday Bash

As many of you know, each year around my birthday I throw myself a party and ask my friends to bring a gift of menstrual supplies that we then donate to local shelters and food pantries.

I came home from Uganda to find our world turned upside down as we work together to try to stop the spread of Covid-19. All MoonCatcher events have been canceled or postponed. I certainly agree with the need for this and am hunkering down myself having been told by JFK officials that I must self-quarantine for the next fourteen days.

But, I’ve been thinking of the women and girls in our community who depend on the shelters and food pantries. With all supplies running low,  we can still do our part to help.

For now there will be no party, no cake, and no speeches but we can still do something.  Please consider a donation via Amazon. All orders come directly to my house.

We will be careful, using universal precautions with distribution set up by phone beforehand. My husband Michael will turn his car into “the menstrual mobile” and deliver all the supplies we receive.

These menstrual supplies were all I wanted for my birthday and with your help my wish can still come true. My actual Birthday is March 31. If you want to sing to me that day, in the safety of your own home, I’d love that.  If you can - send me a photo we will post it!

Thank you all and please take good care of yourselves!
