Masks are Still Needed!
We have been getting lots of questions about the article in the Times Union about hospitals not accepting homemade masks. While this is true of some hospitals, others continue to request “masks of last resort” while other health organizations (Hospice - for families of patients, Visiting Nurses Association, County Health Department and assisted living facilities) and service organization (homeless shelters and food pantries) continue to request masks.
Our 150 + volunteers are starting to drop off masks and cut parts and our big order of elastic will hopefully be here by Friday, March 27 - keep your fingers crossed!. We are hoping to be able to contact the 60+ additional volunteers currently on our wait list to receive materials soon.
As completed masks arrive, we will distribute them ASAP with these precautions so that everyone receiving them understands how to best use them.
For all you wonderful volunteers - here is more information if you need it!
